Did someone say GALLERY?!
Today i went on a trip with college to see the Mark Powers gallery in Walsall, Birmingham, I admit I normally find gallaries boring but today I was really inspired by the work I saw.Mark Powers aimed to capture his perception of beauty in the mundane, his subjects included men's private club's and beauty salons (both industries that are thriving regardless of the recession) he also photographed peoples feet and I loved the vividness of the colours and the narrow depth of field he managed create.

"Moma always said you could tell a lot about a person by their SHOES, Where they go, where they've been"
Forrest Gump is one of my favourite movies and this quote I feel really fits well with the images because its true they do, from scuff marks, style and age, from heels to trainers or sandals I feel Power's really captured the beauty of the black country through these people's feet, I also feel there is more of a truth to photographing thing's besides people's faces as people learn to build a wall to cover true emotions that can be masked with a smile for example, however things like feet and hands cannot be.
Hands... that would be an interesting thing to photograph.
